High School Liaison Assignments 4.8

Each contract counselor is responsible for acting as liaison to one or more of our local high schools, including private and independent schools.

Responsibilities may include notifying key school personnel of the counselor’s availability to assist them and their students in Cabrillo College counseling matters, and making a scheduled visit to the high school at least once per semester. Other activities that may vary from campus to campus include attending college night presentations and speaking at Introduction to College (CG 51) courses, a Cabrillo course offered at several high schools and generally taught by high school counselors.

A sample letter introducing the Cabrillo counselor to High School personnel is attached and should be modified by the individual counselor. High school liaison assignments are reviewed and revised at the Division meeting each Fall semester to ensure adequate and appropriate coverage of local schools.
