What student positions are available in the CTC?
There are two types of student positions available in the CTC: OA (office assistant) and TA (teaching assistant). The office assistant works the front desk managing the printer, print money, and checking out books and equipment. The TA works the CTC floor helping students working in the lab. Both positions require superior people skills and the ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds and experience. Both positions require you to be a Cabrillo student with at least 6 units.
How do I apply for a CTC student position?
To apply for a position you can either go to Student Employment (room 804) or come to the CTC and ask for Rhea Leonard for an application.
Do I need a tutor?
Get a tutor if you are really studying and still not understanding the application. All of us learn in our own style. Sometimes the instruction mode and the written material aren't particularly compatible with your learning style. A tutor will have the time and knowledge to help you figure out how best to find your own way to learn. If you think you need a tutor, find out early which classes qualify for the free tutoring, and set it up before the free hours are all taken.
Where do I find a tutor on campus?
Information on finding a tutor is available through the Cabrillo Tutorial Office (479-6470) or your instructor. For specific classes, Cabrillo provides an hour per week of free tutoring. Be aware, however, that the pool of free tutoring hours changes each semester and due to current budget cuts, is limited.
