As Microsoft prepares to release the latest version of Internet Explorer (Version 7), it should be noted that Blackboard has been working closely with Microsoft during the IE 7 Beta to ensure compatibility of our products with this new browser. We are aware that Microsoft will be pushing this browser out via automatic updates. We have not yet discovered any problems with this browser, though we will continue testing after the final version of IE 7 is released. We have made the necessary updates to our browser test tools to ensure that this browser will show up as compatible with the Blackboard Vista and CE products.
At this time, there are no known functional issues when using MS Internet Explorer 7. This browser is expected to be compatible with the most recent versions of the CE and Vista Learning Systems. These include:
- CE 6 or Vista 4 Application Pack 1 Service Pack 1
- CE 6 or Vista 4 Application Pack 1 with Hotfix 62160
- CE 6.0 or Vista 4.0 with Service Pack 3 Hotfix 61590
- Vista 3.0 Service Pack 7 Hotfix 61870
- CE 4.1 Service Pack 5 with Hotfix 61630 or 62440 and Hotfix 62720
Note: Clients using CE 4 or Vista 3 may need to add WebCT to the list of trusted sites for popups to consistently function as expected. (This is not required for CE 6 or Vista 4.)
