Cabrillo College General Scholarship Program
Funded through private donations to the Cabrillo College Foundation, scholarships are awarded to selected Cabrillo College students who show academic promise, scholastic achievement, and community and/or campus involvement.
This application places students in consideration for the scholarships generated through the Cabrillo College Foundation as well as some private scholarships throughout the year.
Scholarship awards range from $500-$2,500 to be disbursed beginning Fall of the 2012-2013 school year.
Cabrillo College General Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
To apply you must:
- Enroll in and complete a minimum of 9 units at Cabrillo for the Fall 2011 term
- Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA for all Cabrillo College course work
- Follow instructions and complete the entire Application Process
Application Instructions
A complete application requires three items that must be received by the scholarship deadline.
- General Scholarship eForm Application (complete and submit)
- One page Student Statement (Student Statement Tips and Examples pdf)
- One page Letter of Recommendation
A letter of recommendation should be written by someone who is familiar with your academic progress, future goals, and any extenuating personal circumstances. Letters should NOT be from a parent or friend.

Application Deadline: December 12, 2011
The application deadline has passed. The next application cycle will begin Oct 2012.
To submit your Student Statement and Letter of Recommendation you can:
- Email as an attachment to financial.aid@cabrillo.edu
Make sure to include your name, student ID number and what documentation you are submitting in the text of your email. Also, include student name on letter of recommendation. Attachments must be a word document or pdf.
- Mail to Cabrillo College Financial Aid & Scholarships Office, 6500 Soquel Drive, Aptos, CA 95003
- Bring to our front counter
- Leave in the drop box located outside of the 100 building, Aptos Campus
- Fax to 831-479-5016, Attn: Scholarship Coordinator
Selection of Recipients
Cabrillo College General Scholarships recipients are chosen by a panel of Cabrillo College faculty and staff members, and a Cabrillo College Foundation Board member.
After Fall 2011 grades are posted, eligible applications will be reviewed by the selection committee in the Spring 2012 term. Applicants will be notified by email in late April 2012 of their status.
To Receive your Award
In order for awards to be released, students must:
- Submit a Thank You Letter to the Financial Aid & Scholarships Office for the donor of the scholarship (Sample Thank You Letter pdf) AND
- Meet enrollment requirements as determined by the specific scholarship’s Release Code

Scholarship awards are available to recipients the week before the Fall 2012 term begins if all requirements are met.
