Loan requests will only be accepted after:
 You have filed a FAFSA for the current school year (Click here for how to file.)
You have submitted all requested documents (Click here for information on completing your file.)
Your financial aid file has been reviewed
Your final eligibility and academic progress are determined
You will receive either an Award letter or Not Pell Grant Eligible letter when this process is complete. Click here for Cabrillo processing timelines.
Note: Loan processing does not begin until mid July.
To take out a student loan, you must complete these steps each school year:
 Receive an Award letter or Not Pell Grant Eligible letter
 Pass an online Entrance Exam
Complete Loan Request documents
- Once we have received notice that you have passed the Entrance Exam, you will be sent an email with a link to print your Loan Request documents. We download results weekly on Fridays.
Remember: Loan processing begins mid July.
Be enrolled in and attending 6 or more degree applicable units
Note: Loan processing takes an additional 6-8 weeks. Plan accordingly.
Loan checks are mailed beginning the third week of the term.
2009-10 Loan Request Deadlines:
FALL 2009: October 23, 2009
SPRING 2010: April 9, 2010
Loan EXIT Exams are REQUIRED:
 Before receiving a 2nd Loan Disbursement
If you drop below half-time enrollment (6.0 units)
Within 30 days PRIOR to graduating or leaving Cabrillo
