Welcome instructors and counselors

When your course is articulated with the college, students have the opportunity to apply the credits received from your articulated course
to their college programs and degrees.

How do I get my class(es) articulated?

Below are a series of required steps to get your class articulated.
Please feel free to contact the Outreach and Recruitment Office at 479-5760 for more information.
Begin the process right now by completing the Online Articulation Request Form

The High School/Adult School Articulation Process

  1. Any instructor, counselor, or administrator at the high school, adult school, or Cabrillo College may initiate the dialog regarding the articulation of courses.
  2. The Outreach Coordinator will schedule articulation meetings with high school/adult school and college faculty from specific disciplines in order to:
    • Review course outlines to identify common competencies, course objectives, texts, tests, etc.
    • Decide which courses, if any, are equivalent and may be waived, or satisfy prerequisites. If the course is a transfer course, the college articulation officer will meet with the faculty to explain transfer requirements.
    • Identify the appropriate method(s) of determining successful completion of coursework, including specified grade, and/or demonstrated competency, verification by high school/adult school/ROP or college faculty.
    • Explore other possible articulation formats if courses are not equivatent and cannot easily be made equivalent.
  3. All agreement forms will be drafted by the Articulation Office as directed by the faculty, and be approved via signature by the high school/adult school/ROP faculty member and college faculty teaching the course.
  4. All signed agreements will be filed in the Articulation Office.
  5. All agreements will be subject to annual review. If there are no changes to the agreement or curriculum and the same faculty are teaching the courses, the agreements may be rolled over for the following year. Agreements are to be posted on the Cabrillo web portal "School-to-College-to-Career" (linked from the main page to a page entitled "How can I make the most out of High School?").

Note: The links at the top of this page also provide information on programs offered at Cabrillo (organized by career pathways) and steps to be followed to receive articulation credit, as well as existing articulation agreements with the schools.
