What programs does Cabrillo College offer?
Cabrillo has programs on 4 different levels:
1. Skills Certificates and Certificates of Specialization
2. Certificates of Proficiency
3. Non-transferable Associates degrees
4. Transferable Associates degrees and transfer coursework

Finding a Career
Selecting a career pathway is the first step in choosing a career for yourself.

Examine the six color-coded career pathways shown below, click on the one you're interested in to explorer the different jobs and programs in that area.


Some Cabrillo programs offer courses on all levels - others focus on one or two levels only.

Fast Track To Work (FTTW)

This program is your way to learn job skills within a year or so and start a new career. It allows you to work toward a vocational certificate, and you may earn college credit for future programs or degrees at the same time. More Information on FTTW

What are my Program Options?

Certificates

Cabrillo offers certificates in many technical and vocational fields. The Certificate of Proficiency is a program that requires a minimum of 30 semester units, including an English course.
There are also Skills Certificates and Certificates of Specialization that require up to 17 units. The usual time to complete these certificates is from 2 to 3 semesters for full-time students (longer if you are a part-time student).
Students can receive Skills
Certificates, Certificates of Proficiency or Associate's Degrees in a Cabrillo College Occupational Program.

Cabrillo College Degrees

Associate in Science Degree
The majority of Cabrillo's AS Degrees are in vocational programs. They require 60 units of degree-applicable courses, including the completion of 21 units of general education, including english, math competency, and a multi-cultural studies requirement. Students must follow the course requirements for the specific major in addition to the courses in the program.

Note: This degree is not generally appropriate for students wanting to transfer to a 4-year university as it does not meet the admission requirements. See a Cabrillo College Counselor

 

Associate in Arts Degrees
Cabrillo offers three different Associate in Arts Degrees:

  • Cabrillo AA Degree: This degree requires 60 college-level units with 30 units of general education, including english, math competency and a multi-cultural studies requirement. Students must also complete 20 units in the major. Students should always see a Cabrillo College Counselor.
Note: Completion of this degree does not ensure that students have met the UC and/or CSU admission requirements.

  • Transferable CSU General Education AA Degree is designed to meet the admission requirements for students intending to transfer to the California State University system.
    This degree requires the completion of 60 CSU-transferable college units, university admission requirements, a minimum of 30 units of general education, a multi-cultural studies requirement, and preparation for the major. Students should always see a Cabrillo College Counselor.

  • Transferable IGETC AA Degree is designed to meet the admission requirements for students intending to transfer to the University of California system or the CSU System. It is a good option for students who aren't yet certain which university system they want to attend.
    This degree requires the completion of 60 UC transferable college units including university admission requirements, general education, a multi-cultural studies requirement, and preparation for the major. The IGETC must be completed in its entirety and certified. Students should always see a Cabrillo College Counselor.

Transfer

Students can transfer from Cabrillo College to any college in the country!

You can take the first 60 units toward a bachelor's degree at Cabrillo.

Cabrillo also has guaranteed transfer admission agreements with 8 California universities, and articulation with many more.
