PERMANENT
CLASS ROSTERS
The fall
2002 full term permanent class rosters are being distributed to you today in
your mailboxes.
Computing Resources changed the form so that there is an additional column for
you to indicate that
a student is taking your course on a Credit/No Credit basis. Remember that October
5th is the CR/NC
deadline (full term courses only) and you must note the CR/NC selection in the
new column.
MESA SPEAKER SERIES
MESA is sponsoring
a speaker series on Fridays this semester, entitled "Food for Thought."
Topics will be on
current areas of research in the sciences and the marriages of unlikely fields
that sometimes results, and other subjects of interest to students working toward
transfer in a math or science field. All are welcome on Fridays
from 12-1:30 in Room 714. So far this semester speakers have been students sharing
their summer experiences
in internships and in Project Smart, a retired medical school professor discussing
the state of research into
psychic phenomena, and two Cabrillo math faculty who attended K-12 in the Pajaro
Valley School District
discussing career options in teaching mathematics. Upcoming talks are posted
in and around Room 714. All interested are welcome to join.
EDUCATORS IN INDUSTRY FOR
SPRING 2003
Staff are starting
to organize the event for Spring flex week, Feb 4-Feb 7, 2003 and are looking
to recruit team leaders to help organize and lead the site visits. Teams will
be organized before this semester ends. Team
leaders can submit 4 hours of flex credit for organizing the team and contacting
the business (work done this semester) and then another 4 hours for leading
the visit. As a team leader you would: choose a business,
industry or organization to visit, make the initial contact with a representative
from the business who will host
your group, build your team by inviting your colleagues to join you on the visit,
attend a 1 hour orientation, and
lead the visit during flex week. Please contact Rebecca Arnesty at 6459 or rearnest@REMOVE-BEFORE-SENDINGcabrillo.edu
by
October 10th for more information or to join in!
COMPUTERS
Computing Resources
staff have been working with the state to identify funding for about 50 new
faculty
computers. They have not been successful yet! There is a budget for repair of
faculty computers. If you
have need for repairs, contact your Division Dean. Computing Resources is very
interested in assisting you.
