Life Time Achievement

Rob Edwards just received a Life Time Achievement award from the California Society for Archaeology. He was honored
for his work on professional standards, his ethics, his work with Native Californians, and for building a "model
program" at Cabrillo. The CSA also gave out a $1500 award to support exemplary research by a graduate student. That
award went to one of Cabrillo's Archaeology Tech graduates.

Division Reorganization

Alternative Credit Applications

These applications are due on April 24 at noon in the Instruction Office. The SLRB will consider them on May 3rd.

Budget Reduction

CPC met last Wednesday and accepted the component reductions presented by the VPs. Instruction is meeting its
target ($355,000) mainly by replacing 5.5 FTE retiring positions with adjunct faculty and not filling 2 of the budgeted
new positions. All involved in this decision are grieving over the loss of positions and looking forward to better
budget years when we can replace the positions.

Learner Outcomes Institute IV

Marcy tells me she had given each of you an application for the summer institute. The deadline for submitting
applications is May 1st.

Retirement Gala

Mark your calendars for the retirement party on May 17 at 7 PM at the Sesnon House.

Thank you.......

...for all you do for our students!
