Internships & Support
Intensive and fun exploration in energy, electricity and photovoltaics for students at the beginning of their college careers. Lab-based activities for a month in the summer, to total 80 hours of hands-on learning and a community service project. Successfully completing students are awarded stipends for their dedication. Month-long investigation of math topics and skill-building to give students a deep understanding of the transition needed to college level mathematics so they can achieve their goals in a science or technology major. Intensive and fun explorations with interesting applications. Students will in turn help younger students with some of their math challenges as a community service aspect of the Seminar. Stipends awarded to successful completers. Once students have participated in one of the summer STEEP programs, they will be able to apply for STEEP internships. These may be with industry partners in the energy sector, or at local transfer universities, or in-house internships involving campus sustainability efforts or teaching assistantships in local math and science classrooms at the middle and high school level.
