Vehicle Lockouts

Vehicle lockouts occur when vehicle keys are accidentally locked inside the vehicle or lost. Each patrol car is equipped with tools to gain entry into locked vehicles. There is only one restriction regarding lockouts. Vehicles with electric locks and/or side air bags may not eligible for this service. This is a safety issue both for damage to the vehicle as well as the officer. This service is available to everyone on both the Watsonville, Scotts Valley and Aptos campus when a Deputy is available.

Vehicle Jump Starts

A battery jump-start service is also provided. Each patrol car is equipped with a jump box. The jump boxes are self-contained battery units. These units are carried by hand to the vehicle in need of a jump. There are no long cables to attached from one vehicle to another which often times requires the vehicles to be parked next to each other. This allows a simple and safe procedure for starting cars with dead batteries. This service is available to everyone on both the Watsonville, Scotts Valley and Aptos campus when a Deputy is available.
