New, First-Time College Students

For the most direct path to your academic goals, follow these steps:

Apply for admission.

Apply for financial aid. (See updated financial aid information. )

Complete an online orientation. This is a two-step process: First, a state-required orientation on sexual assault prevention and then the Cabrillo orientation.

Attend a Placement & Planning workshop to find out what math, English or ESL courses to take first. Click here for Placement Services information.

Meet with a counselor. 30-minute appointments can be made for Watsonville at (831) 786-4734 or in Aptos at (831) 479-6274.

Register for classes and pay fees. An online tutorial for registration is available here. More registration information is available here.

Continuing Students, or new students taking 1-2 classes with no prerequisites and no math or English

Follow steps 1, 2 and 6 above.

Concurrent/Dual Enrolled High School Students

Tuition is free! Click here for information on taking Cabrillo classes while you are still in high school.

You will need to apply each semester (Step 1 above) as a new student while you are in high school. You will receive an email within a week containing your Cabrillo ID and registration date.

Before you register, you will need to turn in to Cabrillo a dual enrollment form signed by your high school and your parent. The form explains where to submit it online or in person.

If you are taking an English or math class, or one that has prerequisites, you will need to attend a Placement & Planning workshop (step 4 above). Be sure to check here for more information on English and math placement.

Register for classes (step 6 above). You will need your Cabrillo ID from the email you received after applying. (If you forget your Cabrillo ID, you can click on "what's my user ID" to find it, as long as you have either your SSN or Cabrillo ID.) Your initial password will be your birth date in mmddyy format, and you will need to reset it. (HINT: If you use your high school ID as your password, it may be easier to remember.)

Payment: You do not have to pay tuition fees if you have submitted your high school dual enrollment form, although they will be reflected in your balance until they are waived by the system. The only fee that you may decline is the $10 Student Activity Card fee. If you choose not to pay this fee, it must be declined when you register.
