Getting Started at Cabrillo College

Select one:

New students who have never attended college before, and recent high school graduates
New students who are transferring from another college
Continuing students who have registered or applied to Cabrillo within the past year
Returning students who were last registered at Cabrillo more than a year ago
New students with associate or higher degrees
High School students attending Cabrillo while still in high school (concurrent enrollment)
International students attending Cabrillo on an F-1 visa

New Students who have never attended college before, and recent high school graduates

  1. Apply for admission
  2. Apply for Financial Aid, if applicable.
  3. Take an assessment test, if you plan to take more than 6 units or a math or English course.
  4. Attend an orientation session, which is often held at the same time as the assessment test.
  5. Schedule a counseling appointment.
  6. Register for classes.

New Students who are transferring from another college

  1. Apply for admission
  2. Apply for Financial Aid, if applicable.
  3. Send your transcripts, or documentation of assessment scores from another college to Cabrillo College Admissions and Records, 6500 Soquel Drive, Aptos, CA 95003.
  4. Attend an orientation with your assessment scores from another college, and meet with a counselor to evaluate your coursework. You will then receive early registration information.
  5. Register for classes.

Continuing Students who have registered or applied to Cabrillo in the past year

The easiest way to find out when you can register is to call HawkTalk (831-477-5678). It will tell you the date and time you can begin registration using WebAdvisor or HawkTalk.

Returning Students who were last registered at Cabrillo more than year ago

  1. Apply for admission
  2. Apply for Financial Aid, if applicable.
  3. Schedule an assessment test if you plan to take more than 6 units or a math or English course and either of the following apply:
    1. you have never been assessed
    2. you do not have documentation of completing prerequisite requirements
  4. Attend an orientation session with your documentation, or meet with a counselor to get early registration information.
  5. Register for classes online or by phone. Get your registration time from HawkTalk (831.477.5678). It will tell you the date and time you can begin registration using WebAdvisor (online) or HawkTalk (phone).

New students with associate or higher degrees

  1. Apply for admission
  2. Apply for Financial Aid, if applicable.
  3. If you plan to enroll in math, biology or English, send your transcripts to Cabrillo College Admissions and Records, 6500 Soquel Drive, Aptos, CA 95003, and meet with a counselor to evaluate your coursework. You will receive early registration information.
  4. Register for classes online or by phone. Get your registration time from HawkTalk (831.477.5678). It will tell you the date and time you can begin registration using WebAdvisor (online) or HawkTalk (phone).

High School students attending Cabrillo while still in high school (concurrent enrollment)
