2019 Graduation Commencement Ceremony - Cabrillo Graduates, please note the following:

Petition Process for Graduation

All students who have completed graduation requirements must make an appointment with a Cabrillo College counselor to complete a Graduation Petition.

  • Students who file a Graduation Petition by April 5th, 2019:
    • will receive graduation ceremony information from their counselor at the time the Graduation Petition is completed
    • will have their name included in the Graduation Commencement Program
  • Students who file a Graduation Petition after April 5th, 2019:
    • will receive graduation ceremony information from their counselor at the time the Graduation Petition is completed
    • are encouraged to participate in the graduation commencement ceremony
    • will not have their name included in the Graduation Program


      Information for Transfer Students

Transfer Only
  • If you are transferring but not receiving a degree (Transfer Only), you can participate in the Commencement Ceremony. If you would like to take part in this celebration, please RSVP by May 22.  The first 100 students to RSVP will receive a free Graduation Stole.

Deadline to petition for Spring degrees/certificates is on April 12th, 2019


We invite you to participate in the graduation commencement ceremony.  After you have met with a counselor and completed a petition to graduate, you may RSVP. The RSVP window is now closed.

Last day to RSVP for graduation is May 22nd, 2019 by 2pm.

If you missed the deadline to RSVP, don't worry, you can still attend the graduation ceremony! Please check-in at the Cafertieria at 2pm, May 24th.

Caps, Gowns, and Tassels

All students participating in the graduation ceremony are required to wear a Cabrillo College cap, gown and tassel.  These items must be purchased at the Cabrillo Bookstore. If you wish to donate your cap or gown after the ceremony, there will be a table at the graduation ceremony to do so. Donated caps and gowns will be made available for students without means at future graduations.

The Welcome Center in SAC East has a limited number of gowns available to borrow begining May 1st, 2019.  You must purchase your own cap and tassel at the Cabrillo Bookstore or in Watsonville at the Student Resource Center.

Announcements and Cards

April 24-25 from 9am - 3pm will be the Cabrillo College Grad Fair on the Aptos Campus.

  • GRADIMAGES POP-UP PORTRAIT STUDIO will be at the Grad Fair taking photographs (only at the Aptos Campus). Come to the Bookstore if you want more information or you can speak to a representative directly about thier services during the fair.

April 29 from 10am - 1pm will be the Cabrillo College Grad Fair on the Watsonville Campus.

Announcements and card information will be available in the Cabrillo College Bookstore, and the Student Resource Center in Watsonville.

Student Check in and Line Up (Mandatory)

  • Student check-in and line-upwill be held on the same day as the ceremony in the cafeteria (May 24th at 2pm). You must bring your cap and gown and be ready for the procession and ceremony immediately following. You will not have time to go home or to your car. Please do not bring any purses or backpacks to the graduation check-in and line-up. You cannot leave personal articles in the gymnasium.
  • We encourage all students and guests to keep hydrated and bring thier own reusable water container filled with water. Cabrillo is trying to reduce waste.


Diplomas (Degrees / Certificates)

After final grades are posted, your graduation petition will be reviewed by Cabrillo’s evaluation staff. If you have successfully completed all degree or certificate requirements, your diploma will be mailed to the address on your graduation petition about 60 days after the end of the semester. If you have moved after your counselor filed your graduation petition, please send a message to to request that your diploma be sent to your new address. You are also responsible for updating your address in WebAdvisor. All Fall 2018, Spring 2019, and Summer 2019 graduates are encouraged to take part in the commencement ceremony on May 24, 2019, but you are not required to attend the commencement ceremony to receive your diploma. Fall 2018 graduates will receive their diplomas several months before commencement.
