FINANCIAL
AID
Cabrillo College has a FINANCIAL AID OFFICE set up to help you find assistance for your education. They can show you how to fill out your FAFSA form (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), which you can find online at: www.fafsa.ed.gov. Information on financial aid is usually sent out along with a college's registration and admissions materials, or you can call or visit the financial aid offices in Aptos and Watsonville (look below for their office locations and hours of operation in Aptos and Watsonville). There is more money available than you might think, and increased fees actually make more students eligible for federal aid. You (and perhaps your parents) will probably have to ask some questions, and you will certainly be asked to fill out forms, but there are helpful folks in the office to guide you and the payoff is well worth the effort.
If you qualify, some financial aid can come in the form of SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS which don't need to be repaid. Cabrillo also offers hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in locally-funded scholarships, as well as state and federal aid packages of various types. The English Department sponsors annual Writing Awards every spring for the previous year's top writers in all English classes. Ask questions, fill out the forms, and see what happens.
