It's
tough to perform well in school if you have physical limitations or injuries.
It is equally challenging to be a successful student when you suffer from severe
depression, schizophrenia, or another psychological disorder. Often students
with these challenges also have to cope with the hurtful STIGMA
that accompanies living with some disabilities. Some students in this group
must take medications that come with side effects that can sometimes seem nearly
as problematic as the symptoms of a disability.
If your physical or psychological condition becomes an IMPEDIMENT to your learning, we suggest that you seek help by making an appointment to see a counselor at Disabled Student Services. They may be able to help you access resources, gain more time or other ACCOMMODATIONS for your tests and assignments, and find someone appropriate to talk to about the pressure you're under.
