Minutes: 10-23-06 meeting

Minutes from 10/9/06 accepted with changes.

Shawn had an informational item: The words "Suggested Model Program" has been replaced with "Model Program" in the catalog. Shawn's presence was to inform the Council that the policy hasn't changed and that the representatives should go back and let the division members know what the policy is. His concern was that the new wording might be interpreted as a rigid program instead one that is flexible depending on the institution the student was planning on transfering to.

Rick brought before the Council a proposal for Astro 3 to be included in the Associates degrees and to be submitted to CSU for inclusion in the CSU GE list and IGETC. Approved by Council.

Rick brought before the Council a proposal for Astro 4 to be included in the Associates degrees and to be submitted to CSU for inclusion in the CSU GE list and IGETC (contingent upon it being accepted by UC). Approved by Council.

Mary Ellen brought back to the Council the proposal for lower division parallel course substitution criteria. Division reps reported no major opposition. A minor change was made. Approved by Council.

Mary Ellen brought before the Council a proposal to change the definition of the Special Part-Time Sudent and Special Full-Time Studentin AR 6150 to be

Special Part-Time Student (six units or less, or 2 courses if the student has been assessed)

be replace with

Special Part-Time Student (six units or less)

Special Full-Time Student (more than 6 units, or more than 2 courses)

be replaced with

Special Full-Time Student (more than 6 units)
