Minutes from 4/24/06 accepted

Mary Ellen explained the differences in the different GE patterns at Cabrillo. (Informational Item)

Joseph brought before the committee a request for the inclusion of Chem 32 into the Associates degree, CSU and IGETC. The course was approved for the Associates degrees and to be submitted to CSU for inclusion in CSU GE list but not IGETC. Since the course is not currently UC transferable, it could not be considered for inclusion in IGETC.

Mary Ellen, Sue Nerton and Steve Larson brought before the Council an informational item reguarding transferabiltiy to CSU. Currently when a course is created at Cabrillo a parallel course must be found at a UC or CSU to be considered for transferability to CSU. A rough draft of a form that would set forth criteria that would allow a course to be transferable if a course didn't exist at a UC or CSU was given to the Council and members were to poll their divisions and report back at the next meeting.
