Minutes: 11/5/07 meeting

Minutes from 11/5/07 accepted with minor changes

 

Old Buisiness

 

Math 152 AS graduation requirement discussion tabled until next semester.

 

Elissa Wagner and Michelle Merrill gave a brief update of Ecoliteracy proposal-identified many courses that meet requirements (not formalized yet)

 

New Business

 

David King bought a proposal for Dance 12 to be accepted as AA/AS/CSU/IGETC General ed pattern in areas C,C,C1,3 respectfully. Proposal approved

 

Susan Hoisington proposed photo 9C be accepted for Baccalaureate credit. Proposal accepted.

 

Mo Hassan brought two proposals for Business 52 and 65 for both to be accepted for baccalaureate credit. Proposals accepted.

 

Items from the floor

 

Mary Ellen brought before the committee a request for Soc 9/Anthro 9 to be included in the AA/AS/CSU/IGETC General ed pattern in areas D,D,D,4, respectfully. Proposal approved

 

Even though we were tired, Mary Ellen warned us of several items looming on the horizon for next semester:

 

The Math 152/English 1A AS graduation requirement

Non-compliant degrees(too broad) being awarded according to the chancellor's office

Changes to transferable AS degrees

Revision of AP policy

Policy for International Baccalaureate Exams
