Minutes from 2/14/11 not brought so no motion to approve-will do at next meeting.

New Business

Jim Griffin brought a petition to receive baccalaureate credit for CIS 130. Petition approved.

Jay brought a petition for addition of CG 52 to area E AA/AS degree. Petition was approved.

Marcie brought up a concern about repeatable courses and GPA calculation. As it stands, if a student recieves a substandard grade in a repeatable course and repeats the course and receives a C or better, both grades are used for the GPA calculation. She was wanting to have the policy changed or clarified for academic courses, e.g. English 100. Renee commented that the issue may be resolved with a change from CCCCO with regards to repeatable courses. No action was taken.

Marcie also brought before an issue regarding the term completion in the section on catalog rights. A motion was made to change the sentence to read (addition in parentheses): Continuous enrollment is defined as 'completion' of at least one course per academic year (with a grade of A, B, C, D, CR, or P). Motion was approved.

Items from the floor

Ekua had a concern about a student who was unable to enroll in English1AMC because her foreign transcript hadn't been evaluated. It was suggested that the student see the almighty Jay Jackson in counseling.

Jay had a couple of procedural questions of Renee, who set him straight.
