Open
a New Tab (or Window). Use that Tab/Window to do the following:
Click
on Bookmarks {Add to Favorites Star with a green Plus sign} then
click"Bookmark This Page") {Add to Favorites}.
Type
the following URL into the Location Window {Address
Window} then hit the enter key.

Highlight
the following URL and type
the keyboard keys Ctrl + C at the same time
to copy the URL: http://www.bluemountain.com
Click
the mouse pointer in the Location bar {Address}
of your browser to highlight the URL that is in it already. Type Ctrl
+ V at the same time to paste the URL you copied
in the place of the highlighted URL. Then hit the enter
key.
Click
on Bookmarks {Favorites} then
click add bookmark {Add}.
Highlight
the following URL and type
the keyboard keys Ctrl + C at the same time
to copy the URL: http://www.evite.com
Click
the mouse pointer in the Location bar {Address}
of your browser to highlight the URL that is in it already. Type Ctrl
+ V at the same time to paste the URL you copied
in the place of the highlighted URL. Then hit the enter
key.
Click
on Bookmarks {Favorites} then
click add bookmark {Add} .
Click on Bookmarks {Favorites}
and answer the following.

the page name) for each of the three bookmarked website pages
you added to Bookmarks {Favorites}?

Click
on Bookmarks {Favorites} then
select either of the two postcard sites.
4) Send
a postcard to yourself (preferred), someone in our class or
someone you know.
5) For
Firefox: Click
on Bookmarks in the browser text menus then
click on Organize Bookmarks
In
the Bookmarks/Library Window highlight
the "Bookmarks Menu" on
the left, click Organize (File on some
versions) at the top menu, then click New Folder.
The folder will appear with the naming area highlighted.
Type
in the Folder Name CABT160 Bookmarks.
Drag
the three bookmarks you added, one at a time,
to the new folder and drop them into it.
Open
the folder and
see if they are there.
5) For
Internet Explorer: Click
on Favorites in
the browser text menus then click on Organize
Favorites > New Folder. The folder will appear
with the naming area highlighted.
Type
in the Folder Name CABT160 Bookmarks.
Drag
the three bookmarks you added, one at a time,
to the new folder and drop them into it.
Open
the folder and
see if they are there.
Use
Cruzio's Pick a Name for Your Website! It's
a small window on the left side (you may have to scroll
down to see it) and see if the name Ambrosini.com is registered.

On
the menu bar of the browser window go to Edit > Preferences
{Tools > Internet Options}.
Make
Google your default page that automatically
opens when you start a browser session. Test it by opening
a new browser window.
9) Right
click on the Google logo. Click on Copy Image Location and
then right click in the box below to paste the location
into the answer box. {OR In Explorer, right click
then click on Properties. Note the images file name and
copy into the answer box below}
10) For
webpage navigation practice using website navigation instead
of the browser navigation tools, type amazon.com in
your browser window and find the Newsboys CD Thrive.

11) On your own (without
directions) try to do the following. If you can't figure them
out, no worries, I'll demo these in class if I haven't already
done so.
- Add an icon to your browser's
toolbars. (hint: right click a toolbar)
- Identify the Tabs Menu
and add one or two useful site URLs that you want fast access
to every time you open the browser. (hint: this is similar
to bookmarking but you always wee it as a tab that is already
active)
- Find and display your
browser "History"
- Determine how to clear
all Private Data and how to clear just a selected item from
the history
