Attendance - Attendance
is required. There are 8 meetings including
the Final Exam meeting. You may be dropped as a no
show the first week of classes. If you miss more
than 2 weeks of class sessions (2 meetings) you may be
dropped. However, it is the student's responsibility
to drop a course. You receive points for attendance. You
cannot pass the course with less than 70% attendance! (at
least 6 of 8 class days, counting the final.)
Attendance/Participation:
This course requires active participation each day
of class so it is important for you to attend every
class session, arrive on time, and come prepared.
Your participation not only enhances your own learning,
it benefits other students in the class, especially
when the class is doing group work. Your level of
participation is reflected in your grade and since
you can’t participate if you are not in class,
absences will also be reflected in your grade.
Note: There
are no "make-ups" for missed days.
Assignments -
You have 7 assignments. Usually they will be started
or reviewed during our class lab time. Assignments
1 thru 6 are completed onscreen and submitted electronically
via email form. Assignments 6 has three parts: part
1 started in class as hard copy and
finished at home to be turned in next week, part 2 done in class and will be saved as files into my Instructor
turn-in folder, part 3 downloads and a fill out onscreen done at home.
Assignment 7 is a hard copy turned in in class.
Discussions -
are
small reports on topics you select from a list on the Assignments page.
Each Discussion will require you to choose 2 topics for posts AND
at least two responses to other student posts. Discussion posts are typed or
cut and pasted answers turned in via Blackboard. For full credit,
your
original
posts should be at least 250 words each and responses 150 words.
All must be thorough, logical
and posted on time.
Note: Late
assignments will be fifteen points off. Extra Credit may be
available.
Class
Blog - Starting about
the third week, you will create a Blog site (a contraction
of web log). You
will use Blogger to
post at least 3 weekly postings and to read and respond
to other class member postings as well. Instructions
will be given in class.
Website
Project - Starts in Assignments 6 & 7 and is completed in class
during our final meeting.
Late
CourseWork - is
late one week after the due date. They are expected
to be accurate and thoroughly completed since you
took extra time.
Note: All
CourseWork MUST be submitted by the end
of your Final Exam meeting, Wednesday, 12/15. You
do NOT have until the end of finals week. You can
check grades online about 2 days after the final
meeting.
Learning
Modules - in
Blackboard list each weeks activities and Coursework,
Due Dates and Late Dates. You must view them weekly
and stay on pace. Click
Here for a Printable Version.
Withdrawal
policy -
You may withdraw from the course with a W grade
until 75% of the course has elapsed. You can
drop using WebAdvisor. Contact the
admissions and records office for details. Failure to follow the withdrawal
procedure will result in an F grade being assigned at the end of the semester.
No Shows will be dropped by the instructor at the end of the first class meeting
and your spot will be given to a student on Wait List.
Xtra
Credit - You will have some opportunities
to get xtra credit points. They are noted on the
Assignments page. Others may be added.
