You have 4 types of required assignments to complete and 2 type of extra credit.

1. Assignments read them on this page and turned in via Blackboard & parts as hard copies in class.
Note: In BB the Assignments page shows the Late Date.

2. Blog - using Google's Blogger 160 pts
3. Website Project - See Session 14 300 pts

4. Discussion & Extra credit Posts are small reports, posted in Blackboard, on topics you select from a list below. Each Discussion posting will require you to choose 1 topic and write an answer that is about 250 words or more. You must also read and respond to as least 2 other students postings. Discussion 160 pts; Extra credit 100 max

Special Directions: Post your blogsite address as a Discussion 8 post so other students can view your blog.

Special Directions: Turn in Your Blogger Address as the Discussion 8 posting, then go to two other student's blogs and "comment" on them directly at their blogsite.
Website Project and Presentation - Due in class on 5/24 Extra Credit - choose any Discussion topic from the Extra Credit Discussion Choices near the bottom of this page, 10 pts each for a maximum of 100 points. Due 5/24
Discussion Topics - Choose one topic for each Discussion posting. Both Regular and Extra credit will be turned in as a Discussion postings in Blackboard and both require the normal 2 responses to others student's posts.

  • 10 Things You Didn't Know About  website analytics, page and host statistical tracking and other types of information often collected and monitored for web traffic?
  • 10 Things You Didn't Know About the Internet differs from the World Wide Web?

Extra Credit

1. Syllabus Review - In Blackboard under the left menu Assessments link. 20 points possible

2. Discussion Choices (10 pts each for a maximum of 100 points counting the Syllabus review points.) Extra credit will be turned in as a Discussion posting using the Blackboard Discussion tool. Two responses to other student extra credit postings are required for full credit.

  • 10 Things You Didn't Know About connecting or hosting services using a National vs. Local companies?
  • 10 Things You Didn't Know About differences in how men and women use technologies such as computers and Internet browsing? Click here: Calling Venus, Calling Mars
  • 10 Things You Didn't Know About cookies?
  • 10 Things You Didn't Know About Identity Theft?
  • 10 Things You Didn't Know About Privacy issues and concerns when using the Internet?
  • 10 Things You Didn't Know About streaming audio and streaming video?
  • 10 Things You Didn't Know About the differences between web page editors, translators and WYSIWYP editors?
  • 10 Things You Didn't Know About firewalls?
  • 10 Things You Didn't Know About laws regulating or restricting what we do with the Internet? (i.e. former California Gov. Gray Davis signed prohibiting spam in CA and threatening a $1,000,000 penalty; taxation, ethics, etc.)
  • 10 Things You Didn't Know About: Other Topics are allowed by Instructor approval only!
