You are eligible for use of the Computer Technology Center (CTC) when you register for this class. You are not required to use the CTC to complete your work! The “arranged hours” listed in the Schedule of Classes for CABT 161 “(6 Hours 5 Minutes)” represents valuable instructional time in the Computer Technology Center (CTC) labs and is considered an official part of the course. As part of new requirements from the State Chancellor’s Office we are making sure students know of the valuable resources there, such as access to software, video tutorials, and instructional help. Also, as part of course requirements students will be required to sign in when fulfilling their arranged hours in the labs. Cabrillo Open Lab Hours Are: |

Attendance - Attendance is required. There are 11 meetings including the Final Exam meeting. You may be dropped as a no show the first week of classes. If you miss more than 2 weeks of class sessions (2 meetings) you may be dropped. However, it is the student's responsibility to drop a course. You receive points for attendance. You cannot pass the course with less than 70% attendance! (at least 8 of 11 class days, counting the final.)
Assignments -
You have 8 Assignments. Usually they will be started or reviewed during
our class lab time.
Discussions - You have 8 Discussion postings, small reports, posted in Blackboard, on topics you select from a list below. Each Discussion posting will require you to choose 1 topic and write an answer that is about 250 words or more. You must also read and respond to as least 2 other students postings . Course Website Project - Your main activity is to create your website, and any content related to it. (graphics, icons, webpages, etc.)
Course Blog Website - You will create a Blog site (a contraction of web log), a template created website . You will use Google's Blogger tool. This is a social networking promotional tool used to promote your website and bring more visitor traffic to your main site.
Late CourseWork - is late, if turned in more than one week after the due date. It is expected to be accurate and thoroughly completed. The Course Website and Blog site are Due at the end of the last meeting, Monday, 5/24. Withdrawal Policy - You may withdraw from the course with a W grade until 75% of the class has elapsed. You can drop using WebAdvisor. Contact the admissions and records office for details. Failure to follow the withdrawal procedure will result in an F grade being assigned at the end of the semester. No Shows will be dropped by the instructor at the end of the first class meeting and your spot will be given to a student on Wait List. Xtra Credit - You will have some opportunities to get xtra credit points. They are noted on the Assignments page. Others may be added. |
