Discussion & Extra Credit

Discussion Topics are completed via Blackboard threaded "Discussion." They are short answer text writings that you complete by logging onto Blackboard and clicking on the "Discussions" link under "Course Content." You will choose topics from the list below. In some cases I have provided links to get you started. You are expected to use your computer to find information on your own or in addition to the starter info I provided. New topics may be added as the semester progresses.

Discussion Topics are worth: 20 points each for 120 points total.

Grading Rubric for Discussion Topics and Xtra Credit:
  • For credit you must Choose one topic for an Original post and explore it from several angles: What is the problem, what are solutions, goods and bads, etc.
  • Original posts should be at least 250 words and responses 150 words.
  • You must respond to two other student's postings each time.
  • To get credit you must properly cite your sources including info I can use to verify your sources and information
  • Always include the discussion topic as a title so we know what topic you picked from the list below
  • Xtra Credit - You may do extra credit discussion topics postings using the xtra credit topics at the bottom of this page for 80 points extra credit maximum. No Repeats from topics used for the required Discussion postings.
