Directions:

Audience or Customer Profile

Read: Planning Your Website Around Customers & Markets from Session 5 in the Class Sessions on your class website and use the information from the course so far to answer the following questions. Include these answer on your business plan website (project).

1. Describe your customers, your Target Market or Markets: Do you have different markets you need to cater to due to geography, lifestyle, demographics, socioeconomics, product usage patterns, price, purchase habits, interests or other factors? How about consumer, industrial, or reseller markets. How about Government? Are there segments of the market you can focus on?

2. How does the typical customer treat the purchase process when shopping at your eCommerce site (See "The Six Basic Types of E-Shoppers" from the lecture material above.)?

3. Visitor Goals: What results do the visitors want from your site when visiting your site? What values, benefits, information, activities, etc. do they expect?

4. Describe the typical buyer behavior and purchase habits of your market when purchasing your products or services.

a. In what ways would they have to change to buy from you online?

b. In what ways could you accommodate them or ease their resistance to to changing their habits?

5. What is your typical customer's purchase frequency and purchase quantity?

6.What is the Average Sales Volume (Demand) you expect from your website in a typical month? Focus on the month and the range of sales but you may want to use daily and weekly estimates to build to a monthly figure. (use the chart or type your answers...it may not paste into Blackboard)
