What I Expect From You:
Attend class and be on time. Be prepared
to learn. If you must be late, enter quietly.
Stay for the full class period. Please
do not begin shuffling books, making noise, or begin packing and
fidgeting 10 minutes before class is over.
If you must leave early do so quietly
and unobtrusively.
Do all required assignments and turn
them in on time. Late work is generally not accepted. Read and review
your course syllabus. Please don’t make excuses and don’t hold others
responsible for your actions or failure to act. Please give explanations
only if asked.
Listen while others are speaking
Treat classmates, visitors and your
instructor with respect; be courteous and cooperative in all matters.
Be responsible for your own learning.
Do assignments, bring appropriate materials, be timely, work alone
or in groups as required, study and apply yourself. If you miss
class, you are responsible for material covered. Please arrange
with classmates to get any notes or handouts.
What You Can Expect From Me:
I will begin and end on time and come
prepared.
I am not accessible right before class
begins. This is my setup and preparation time.
I will be accessible by phone, e-mail,
and in person during schedule office hours.
I respect that you are seeking education
and will assume you are here because you want to be.
I will not embarrass you or single
you out in class.
I will not tolerate bigotry, racism,
sexism, culturism, ageism, lifestylism, or religious intolerance.
I will not tolerate cheating in any
form. This includes copying someone else’s work, looking at someone’s
paper during exams or quizzes, using any materials not allowed,
representing someone else’s work as your own, and so on. Nor will
I tolerate disruptive behavior. I will initiate one or more of the
disciplinary actions as follows according to the Cabrillo College
policy as outlined in your Student Rights & Responsibilities
Handbook:
- issue an oral or written warning
- issue a failing grade for an assignment
- issue a failing grade for the course
- drop you
- refer you to the Dean of Student
services for action before you may return to class
- suspend you
- escort you from the classroom
If you cannot abide by these
classroom expectations, please withdraw from the class
