MS Word 2007 Cheats
(Okay, not really cheats, just menu steps to find frequently used tools and commands.)

Word 1, Parts 1-5

  • MS Office Button > Word Options > Proofing > Autocorrect Options
  • Insert Tab > date and time Make sure the Update Automatically box is checked.
  • Add an AutoText icon to the Quick Access toolbar or use Insert > QuickParts on the Ribbon)
  • Page Layout > Margins > Customize Margins
  • Review Tab > Spelling & Grammer
  • Ctrl +Enter Or Insert Tab > Page Break Or Page Layout Tab > Breaks
  • Insert Tab > Header > Edit Header (opens a Design Tab > Page Number > Current Position > Check "Different First Page >Then "Close Header and Footer.
  • Page Layout > Margins > Custom Margins > "Apply To" menu at bottom and apply to: This point forward
  • Page Layout Tab > Page Borders > Horizontal Line (form any of the three tabs)
  • File > Page Setup > Borders > Page Borders > Box > Apply to: "this section" > OK
  • Page layout Tab > choose orientation AND choose margins
  • (Home Tab > Paragraph > Tab button)
  • Home Tab > Paragraph > Indents & Spacing Tab > choose Line Spacing options
  • Reference Tab > Footnotes
  • Page Layout Tab > Choose a color ; Page Layout Tab > Choose Watermark
  • Review Tab > in Proofing Group choose Word Count
Word 2, Parts 1-5
  • (Use Ruler Bar to insert a center & right tab & decimal tabs
  • Home tab > Font options > Underline Style then for the Percent Total use the Format Painer)
  • Page Layout Tab > Page Colors > Fill Effects
  • Insert Tab > Chart
  • Right Click the Chart > Chart Object > Edit then Right Click the Object you wish to Edit
  • Insert tab > Table > Insert table > 3 columns, 18 rows?
  • Insert Tab > Clip Art > Search For: "Financial"Insert Tab > Picture > ?
  • Page Layout Tab > Borders & Shading > Page Border tab > Art options > pick border > Apply to: "This section -all except first page
  • Home tab> in Paragraph group > choose Multilevel List> pick one of the choices to the right of "none"
  • Home Tab > Paragraphs group >Tabs Button> Tab stop position = 8, alignment = right, leader = 2
  • Use Tab/Shift Tab or the Indent icons on the tool bar to manipulate your outline
  • Insert Tab > Illustrations Group and choose Shapes AND Text Group choose Text Box
  • Page Layout Tab > in the Page Setup Group click Columns then More Columns > Two, Line Between, Selected text
  • Insert Tab > in Text Group choose Drop Cap
  • Page Layout tab > Watermark Options > Custom Watermark > select Picture Watermark then click the Select Picture button
  • Insert Tab > on the far right choose Symbol
