Hello and welcome!
This site contains information about CG1, the College Success class I will be teaching fall 2012. College Success is designed for first year college students. Students are required to attend the first class meeting. I’m very excited about teaching this class in a hybrid format with one weekly class meeting on campus, and the other online through Blackboard.. I'm working hard to make it a positive and rewarding learning experience for everyone. Let me tell you a little bit about the class.

College Success is a transferable course designed to help you create greater success in college and in life. In the coming weeks, you will learn many proven strategies to maximize learning. This class focuses on the following topics:
Registered student need to login to Blackboard Learning Systems beginning the first day of class. I strongly recommend students participate in the Blackboard Orientation. Then proceed to Cabrillo's Blackboard and follow the instructions under “Activate Your Account”. Here, you can look up your Blackboard account user name and password.
Students will be provided add codes depending on the number of "no shows." Priority is given to students on the waitlist. To add the course, attend the first class meeting and paricipate in the required orientation. If there is space available you will be provided an add code so you can register. You will have access to Blackboard within 2-3 business days of being added.
Hardware and Software Requirements
You will need regular access to a computer and an updated web browser. Be sure you are using a supported web browser and your browser settings are correct for Blackboard, our course management system.
The Computer Technology Center at both the Aptos and Watsonville campus has computers for students to use.
