JOIN THE CABRILLO COLLEGE BANDS!

The Cabrillo Band program offers wind and percussion musicians a concert band or jazz big band experience that includes reading and performing challenging music at all levels from beginning to professional. The bands are not just classes, but a community of musicians who, working together, aspire to play and perform quality instrumental music in an uncritical environment.

It's fun to play music in large ensembles!

It's a great activity to meet new people and old friends.....and work together on a quality performance!...and this is a great time to discover Cabrillo College Music as we are finally in our new state of the art facilities!....and please encourage your friends and family to "dive-in" to Cabrillo Music classes as well!

• Concert Band (intermediate level) meets from 5:00-7:00 pm on Tuesdays.
• Symphonic Winds (advanced/professional level) from 7:15-9:30 pm on Tuesdays.
• Jazz Workshop (intermediate level) meets from 5:00-7:00 pm on Thursdays.
• Jazz Ensemble (advanced/professional level) meets from 7:15-9:30 pm on Thursdays.

ALL BAND CLASSES MEET IN THE LARGE REHEARSAL HALL VAPA5156, BEGINNING TUESDAY FEBRUARY 8TH, 2011 FOR CONCERT BANDS, AND THURSDAY FEBRUARY 10TH, 2011 FOR JAZZ BANDS. AUDITIONS AND CLASS ASSIGNMENTS ARE HANDLED ON THE FIRST MEETING OF EACH CLASS.

• Music 18A Beginning Wind Band Instruments (For students who are interested in becoming wind and percussion musicians or musicians who would like to develop skills on a new wind or percussion instrument) section 68437 Wednesday 12:00-1:05.
• Music 18B Intermediate Wind Band Instruments (For the intermediate level wind and percussion musicians who would like to further develop their skills) section 68438 Monday/Friday 12:00-12:50.
• Music 18B Intermediate Concert Band (For the intermediate level wind and percussion musicians who would like to play and perform quality band music while further developing their skills) section 68439 Tuesday 5:00-7:00
• Music 18J Intermediate Jazz Band (For beginning and intermediate level musicians who would like to play quality big band music while further developing their skills) Audition only - section 68440 Thursday 5:00-7:00.
• Music 48 Symphonic Winds (For the advanced level wind and percussion musicians who would like to play quality band music while further developing their skills) section 68468 Tuesday 7:00-9:30

The Cabrillo College SPRING Semester starts Monday February 7th!

The Cabrillo College Concert Band and Symphonic Winds will begin another semester on Tuesdays February 8th, and the Cabrillo College Jazz Band and Jazz Workshop will begin another semester on Thursday February 10th. Classes are available to the following Rhythm Section, Wind and Percussion musicians at all levels of ability:
