Class Objectives
1. Study plants suitable for Central California and
include recent introductions into the nursery trade.
2. To encourage students to learn about plants outside the 100 we focus
on and ask questions about any plant they encounter in the landscape in
order to expand their knowledge.
3. To learn to combine plants that create attractive, environmentally
sound and maintainable landscapes through doing a design project.

Take Home Midterm consisting of short answer questions & plant identification flash cards.
Design Project: A planting design project chosen from 2 sites visited in class, with a base plan provided.
Take Home Final: Field identification of 50 plants studied. Takes place off campus.
