Online Classes – FAQs
It's
almost time for the semester to begin and I don't have a clue how to proceed with an online class like MUS 12 for which I am
registered. What do I need to do?
The course is for the most part self-contained. There is no textbook required, since all of our material will be online. On the first day of class, read all of the COURSE DOCUMENTS that are posted on the class website. Hopefully, they should answer most of your questions.
Beginning on the first day of the term, you can login at:
Be sure you are familiar with the BlackBoard system:

Is
there an orientation before class starts?
Contrary to what any course catalog or schedule of classes may say, there is no orientation session for any of my online classes. There will be enough time during the first week of class to become familiar with the class website and the course procedures. I do suggest that all students read through their college's Distance Learning webpages thoroughly before classes begin.
Why
doesn’t the bookstore have a textbook listed for this course?
All of our study materials—lectures, articles, and recordings—are available online via the class website. Be sure that your internet connection is working well!
Where
do I send my assignment? Do I send them
to you?
All of our assignments are posted in the appropriate forum in the “Discussions” section of the class website. Please read “About The Discussions” in the COURSE DOCUMENTS.
I am
still confused on our research project. What exactly do we have to do?
There is information about the project in the COURSE DOCUMENTS on our classroom website, under the articles called "About The Research Project" and in the "Grading Rubrics". Please read these and let me know if you have any specific questions about it.
I was
wondering in this week's assignment, you mentioned the concert. I think I might have missed something. Was
the concert review part of the original curriculum? If so, is it simply a
review of a concert I have attended?
For information about this and other upcoming assignments, please read the SYLLABUS and the COURSE DOCUMENTS on our class website.
