About me

I have been a Spanish instructor at Cabrillo since 1995. In addition to teaching, I have led Study Abroad programs to Zacatecas (Summer 2002), Morelia (Winter 2004) and Buenos Aires (Summer 2006). Prior to coming to Cabrillo I worked in Adult Education teaching Spanish, English as a Second Language, and Math and Language Arts in Spanish.

I received my B.A. in French Literature at UCSC and my M.A. in Spanish at San José State University. More recently I have ventured into the world of online education and digital media with the goal of creating learning opportunities for students via the Web.

I am married and have two school-age boys. Our "niña" is Scout (see photo), a rather intense Australian Shepherd with boundless energy. We participate in agility trials and are working on a novice title - it's been years now. The newest addition to our family is Moe, a more relaxed Australian Shepherd a bit younger than Scout.
