We leave for our hikes at 9:30 am. Do not be late! If you are meeting us at the hike site you will need to consult with me ahead of time as to the location and time. “Cost Plus” as a meeting place refers to the Gateway Plaza Shopping Center at 450 River Street in Santa Cruz, not “Costco”. Feb 29: Wilder Ranch 1 (meet at Cost Plus or Hwy 1 pullout at Wilder main entrance)
Mar 7: West Cliff and the Monarch Butterflies (Cost Plus or Lighthouse Field restrooms)
Mar 14: Wilder Ranch 2 (meet at Cost Plus or Hwy 1 pullout at Wilder main entrance)
Mar 21: UC Santa Cruz (meet at Cost Plus or top of Spring St.)
Mar 28: Spring Break--no class
Apr 4: Wilder Ranch 3 (meet at Cost Plus or Hwy 1 pullout at Wilder main entrance)
Apr 11: Henry Cowell’s (meet at Cost Plus or Probation Center on Graham Hill Rd.)

Apr 25: Land of Medicine Buddha (meet at Cabrillo tennis courts. Very limited parking at hike site)
May 2: Nisene Marks (meet at Cabrillo tennis courts)
May 9: Baldwin Loop (meet at Cost Plus or 4-mile Beach parking lot)
May 16: UCSC Natural Reserve (meet at Cost Plus. Very limited parking at hike site)
May 23: DeLaveaga and the Santa Cruz Circle Trail (meet at Cost Plus)
May 30: Gray Whale Ranch (meet at Cost Plus. Very limited parking at hike site)
June 6: Wilder Ranch 5 (meet at Cost Plus or pullout at Wilder main entrance) *

*Our last hike is during finals week and is scheduled at our regular day and time. If you have a conflict with another final you will need to do a make-up hike before finals week.

We may encounter poison oak, ticks, wasps and mosquitoes on many of our hikes. Light-colored lightweight long pants and insect repellent are advisable. Always check for ticks and shower and wash clothes to avoid posion oak after each hike. Bring plenty of water and energy snacks and wear sunscreen. Good footwear is required.
