Beach Volleyball
Tuesday and Thursday afternoons (1:00-3:00 pm) at Main Beach in Santa Cruz
All skill levels
16 weeks: starts September 1 (meet at Main Beach for first class)
Cost is $40 plus a mandatory health fee

Indoor Volleyball
Monday Evenings at the New Brighton School gymnasium
Advanced skill levels 7:30-9:30 pm
New sessions every 8 weeks
Cost is approximately $40 to $50 plus non-resident fee

Wednesday Mornings (9:30-1:00 pm)

Classes are designed to improve upon basic skills and introduce new and challenging situations. Some classes fill very quickly and preregistration is advised. Participants may join some classes currently in session. Cabrillo students are permitted to take only four semesters of volleyball or hiking (any combination of skill levels) for credit. If you have taken four volleyball or hiking classes, see me about alternatives. The instructor, Phil Kaplan, is a former rated player with Master's Degrees in Physical Education and Sports Psychology with 25 years experience teaching and coaching. He is certified Cap Level II by the U.S.Volleyball Association and was named Northern California and Pacific Coast Coach of the Year. He is also an avid hiker.
Doubles Beach Tournaments
"No Attitudes Allowed" sand tournaments take place monthly at Main Beach in Santa Cruz. Most tournaments feature categories for men and coed and occasionally women. Cost is $35 per team for a whole day of competitive volleyball and the opportunity to meet players at the intermediate/advanced level of play. Pre registration is required through our website. These tournaments were a great success last year and enjoyed by all who participated--just ask them!
