No Attitudes Allowed sand doubles tournaments will take place monthly at Main Beach in Santa Cruz. Nearly 400 teams participated last year. Categories for coed, men, coed novice and, occasionally, women and 4-person. Cost is $35 per team (see note below) for a whole day of competitive volleyball and the opportunity to meet players at the intermediate/advanced level of ability. Tournament size will be restricted to the first 48 teams. Preregistration will take place on a first come, first served basis. Entry fee must be received by the tournament director, Phil Kaplan, 100 N. Rodeo Gulch Rd. #29, Soquel, Ca. 95073 on the Thursday preceding the tournament date. Please include phone number and e-mail address if applicable. Online registration is also available through Active.com. Call-in registrations will secure a spot only when payment has been received.
New for the 2008 season, team entry fee will include a $7 donation to Second Harvest Food Bank and a $5 payment to Rowland Sushi for Main Beach maintenance and equipment. Canned good donations are no longer necessary. All of our tournaments donate to local charitable causes--over $26,000 has been raised!
Should a particular tournament not fill up, sign ups will be allowed the day of the tournament with a late fee ($40 per team). Check-in for preregistered participants is 8:30 AM. At 8:45 AM, preregistered entries not checked-in will be given to those on the waiting list. Credit will be given if a preregistered spot is filled. If you are a preregistered team and cannot make it to the tournament please let the tournament director know as soon as possible at 831-464-1496. Special Note: Main Beach can get very hot. Be prepared with sand socks, umbrellas, hat, water and sunblock. Check Santa Cruz weather.
