While this is an online class, it is not totally self-paced. We will go through the material together, with weekly lessons, readings, assignments, and online discussions. (You can do the work anytime during the week, but it is due no later than 8:00 p.m. each Wednesday.)
A mandatory on-campus orientation meeting is Wednesday, August 31, 6:00-8:00 p.m., in Room 1051 (the "Electronic Classroom" upstairs in the Cabrillo Library). The purposes of this class meeting are to get acquainted, review all course requirements, get hands-on experience with the online course environment you'll be using, and complete your initial assignments.
This class is based at Cabrillo's website. All you need is a computer with Internet access. It doesn't matter if the computer is your own, a friend's or family member's, at work, at a library (including Cabrillo's), a Cabrillo computer lab, or even an Internet cafe!
In addition, you need to have an email address. (If you don't already have one, they are available for free from Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.)
If you want more information, contact instructor, Phil Van Loon, by phone (429-1958) or email.
