A Sunset Beach Run

Feb 25, 2016

Winter low tides make for the most memorable beach runs, and I brought my camera and timed my run for sunset. The heavy surf has taken so much of our higher sand out to deeper parts, that at low tides at sunset the flat sand makes a palette for the sunset to reflect the purples and oranges of the sky. Also enjoying tonight's beach was Salvador, and we joined up for a last few yards, after my photos and after the colors were fading.

A brave young man with polio offered to take this shot of me, and we shared our stories

Egrets are have such an elegant profile. This moment, before the wave retreated, caught the blue and orange sky reflections .

The Boardwalk's Giant Dipper dates back a hundred years, felt right to do this in black and white
