Practice Swim of the Ironman 70.3 Santa Cruz course

Sept 7, 2018

This Friday evening, before the Sunday Ironman 70.3 - Santa Cruz, the swim course was already laid out. The SCTA had some members doing the race, and I joined them in doing the 1.2 mile course, out past the end of the wharf. The water was warm, 63F, and it was a good way for me to de-stress a bit from the week. I'd planned instead to be doing the 2.4 mile June Lake swim as part of the Granite Man Challenge on this Friday, but Cabrillo concerns interfered, and I had to finish out the work week in town. However, this swim got me cheered up enough to want to still do the drive to the June Lake area and do the Tioga Run on Sunday morning, and to enjoy a swim in Lake Tenaya as a substitute for the June Lake swim.
