Observer: Richard Nolthenius
I set up for this event on a dirt road 1 mile south of Hwy 58 where it touches the Los Padres National Forest, some miles south of the centerline. The star was magntiude 10.9 and the moon was near full, making it very difficult. Cirrus clouds came in 2 hours before the event, before I had it located in the 10" LX200. I was on the star position well before the event and stayed with it, the clouds only got thicker. At the time of the event, the limiting magnitude was about 8.9 to 9.1; a "cloud out".
