Jay, Karl and I were on our way to Lick Observatory for this unique night, the closest approach of Mars in some 50,000 years. We stopped at C.T. English in order to not miss the Liberatrix occultation. The path center ran north of us, so the odds would've been better at Lick, but we were running late and C.T. English School on Summit Road was our next best choice. Conditions were good - clean, clear, dry, decent seeing. No problems finding and tracking the star/asteroid.
Results: Jay Friedland, Karl von Ahnen assisted as I set up the 8" Meade and pc164c video camera for this event. I don't have the recorded start, stop times, but we had a clean miss. The star did not disappear.
