Terry Fetterman's Homepage

Psychology Instructor at Cabrillo College

I love teaching psychology.  I think that learning can and should be fun, and that's what I try to promote in every class.  I usually teach general psych and biological psych (which is my passion.)  I really enjoy teaching research methods also.  Before I was a teacher I sang and taught guitar for a living.  That was fun too.

Here's a little biographical information on me. (More than you want to know, but there's some cool stuff at the end.)

I was born in England and came to America on the Queen Mary when I was three years old.

My earliest memory is of a movie I saw in England called The Littlest Kidnappers. It's about two little boys who kidnap a baby and are taking care of it. I remember one boy saying to the other, 'Let's call it Rover.'   I was 2 1/2 years old.

I attended 15 schools before graduating from Blackford High School in San Jose.

In high school I sang in the choir, played Alfred P. Doolittle in My Fair Lady and was on the track team: I pole vaulted and ran high hurdles.  I also met Nancy Fenton, who now teaches math here.

I attended 4 colleges - West Valley, Cabrillo, San Jose State and UC Berkeley.

My thesis was entitled Differential hemispheric energy input requirements:
An explanation of learning without awareness

My favorite movies are Lady and the Tramp, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Man and a Woman, The Graduate, Top Hat, Grand Prix, Blade Runner, and Matrix

I love cars.  I own a nearly perfectly restored 1956 Jaguar XK-140, an unrestored 1968 Camaro, and a 1987 Camaro.

My favorite Classical music is Mozart, Vivaldi, Beethoven, and Dvorak
                    Rock--Everly Brothers, Moody Blues, Beatles,

My favorite books include Robert Pirsig's "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance,"
Everything by Tom Robbins, such as "Even Cowgirls Get the Blues", Everything by William Gibson, such as "Neuromancer"

My favorite cartoon characters are Rocky & Bullwinkle, Bugs Bunny and Bart Simpson

These snakes aren't moving!
