Learn to read authentic signs in Chinese characters in order to spot an Internet cafe, find a restroom, and enter the right door, avoid danger or fines, know where to get help, understand what is on sale ... and feel much more comfortable when you visit China or regional Chinese shopping areas. You will benefit from this class regardless of whether you are an absolute beginner, or have studied Chinese (up to intermediate level), or are preparing for AP and/or SAT-II Chinese. This is a crash course for conversational Mandarin Chinese focusingon travel.
Scenario by scenario, you will “rehearse” a trip to China starting from the moment you board the airplane. We will also discuss culture, etiquette and practical tips for travel in China. This course is suitable for people who have never learned any Chinese as well as those who have learned some Chinese but need more verbal practice.
