The Entry Level Construction Skills Certificate of Completion is a noncredit certificate designed to cover the phases of construction, planning, and permitting processes for residential construction. Topics include analysis of contract documents, safety, tools, equipment, material selection and use, foundations, framing, roofing, insulation, drywall, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, interior and exterior carpentry, finishes, introduces estimating, planning, scheduling, and project management. The combination of lecture and lab provides students opportunities to learn hands-on and practice skills while completing several build projects over the semester. Students will be qualified to apply for general repair and entry-level managerial construction jobs.

The Sustainable Construction and Blueprint Reading Certificate of Completion is a noncredit certificate designed to cover the analysis and interpretation of construction documents and sustainable practices in the construction industry. Topics cover blueprint reading and analysis and introduction of sustainable building methods and applications, including relationships between the natural and built environment. Both residential and commercial construction sectors are included. Students will be qualified to apply for general repair, plans reader and managerial level construction jobs. Students will be prepared to transition into the Construction and Energy Management credit courses with basic knowledge of construction.
