Every Business Needs Information Technology (IT) Experts. That Expert Can Be You!
Information Technology (IT) is at the heart of every major business and institution, from hospitals and universities to entertainment studios and banks. Job opportunities are booming and you can start your tech career path with Cabrillo College's Computer Information Systems (CIS).
IT includes rapidly emerging and evolving computer hardware, software, networking, telecommunications, Internet, programming, and information systems technologies. CIS courses help students to update job skills, prepare for careers in IT, and even transfer to four-year institutions.
Our two Associate of Science Degrees, two Certificates of Achievement, one Skills Certificates and three Certificates of Completion prepare both students who are looking to start their IT career and those IT professionals who want to refresh their skills for their current job or are looking to prepare for a promotion. Career Opportunities
Employment in computer and information technology occupations is projected to grow 15 percent from 2021 to 2023, much faster than the average for all occupations. This increase is expected to result in about 682,800 new jobs over the next decade. In addition to new jobs from growth, opportunities are constantly arising from the need to replace workers who leave their occupations permanently. About 377,500 openings each year, on average, are projected to come from growth and replacement needs.
