I came to Cabrillo College from the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) where I worked as an EOP STEM Counselor. Prior to my tenure there, I was a Student Success Coach at University College at Azusa Pacific University where I provided one-on-one support for online and face-to-face adult learners in the areas of online academic engagement, academic advising, basic financial aid advising, strengths-based learning, career counseling, and spiritual formation while fostering adult student development through clarification of academic, professional, and personal goals using strategies that contribute to successful academic completion. I obtained my Doctorate of Education in Higher Education Leadership from Azusa Pacific University where I centered my research on critical professional learning and building institutional capacity to take antiracist action. According to the CliftonStrengths assessment, two of my top ten strength themes are harmony and discipline, thus, I consider myself to be a collaborative engineer of educational equity.
