Welcome to Summer 2021!

Resuming the Cabrillo Extension Summer Youth Program is an important part of our commitment to help meet the community's needs.

Our camps provide a safe and engaging environment for children to explore and grow. We know it's been a rough year, and we are ready for an active, fun-filled summer!

Registration is now open for all camps and classes!

Cabrillo Extension is happy to offer a limited number of scholarships for our summer youth program. Scholarships provide students and families the opportunity to enjoy our camps and classes at reduced registration fees. What to Expect in Your Virtual Camp...

Friendly, knowledgeable instructors will greet and guide campers through their camp day as they connect with friends from down the street, or their cousin 1000 miles away! Join old friends, and make new ones, to bake together, build together, or explore together in a virtual camp

Whether it's a science project, a baking recipe, or creation your own video game, our camp content is safe and age appropriate for campers. Engaging, hands-on projects can be complete at home with the supplies and resources detailed in each camp description. Some even include ready-made supply kits mailed directly to you!

To ensure that only registered students are admitted to virtual camp sessions we use Zoom waiting rooms. Students gain access to the waiting room automatically with the link provided after registration. Then instructors admit students individually, based on the campers name used for their registration.

To be sure that your child's privacy is protected, recordings cannot be make by participants. The technology behind the scenes in every virtual classroom is closely controlled and monitored by Extension staff.

Safety first, safety last, safety always - even in the virtual classroom! Our Extension Summer Youth Program team has configured virtual classrooms and created camp guidelines with campers' safety in mind. Instructors will review these guidelines on the first day of each camp, and assure guidelines are respected at all times.

What to Expect in Your In-Person Camp...

We know how valuable a low teacher-to-student ratio is! Camps will have small, stable groups all summer long, to ensure your child gets the most out of their summer experience. Most camps will have a student-to-teacher ratio of 12:1 or less.

Whether it’s a science project, a baking recipe, or a sports drill, our camp content is safe and age-appropriate for campers. Engaging, hands-on projects and activities will be completed with modifications to keep kids engaged, while also keeping them safe.

To keep our staff and campers healthy, all participants will complete daily health screenings. This quick questionnaire will be filled out each day at drop off before campers are escorted to their camp location by staff. In addition, we require all staff and campers to keep their masks on throughout camp, to keep them and their new friends safe!

To ensure your child’s safety, we only release campers to those authorized by a parent or guardian during registration. staff. As public health guidelines change, Cabrillo Extension will continue to evaluate the health and safety of our summer youth program.
