Common Questions

What is the Cabrillo Youth Program?

Cabrillo Arts is a reflection of the creative community that is Santa Cruz. Through hands-on classes and workshops students enjoy expert instruction, access to cutting-edge equipment and state-of-the-art facilities, and the opportunity to collaborate and connect with their community.

How old does my child need to be to take a class?

Each class in the Cabrillo Youth Program has an age range carefully selected to keep kids engaged with their peers and the content. We offer classes for kids as young as 8, and up to age 17. Ages for each class are listed after the title.

How do virtual classes work?

If you can't come to us, we'll come to you! Most live instruction classes are offered through Zoom, a virtual space where your child will interact with their instructors and classmates in real time. You do not need a Zoom account, and you can connect directly from your favorite web browser. With just one click, you can join your classroom - no extra log-in required! Some classes also include "asynchronous" activities, which are completed outside of the live class time, to keep the fun going!

When will you offer face-to-face classes?

As a result of the campus being closed, Extension will not be able to offer face-to-face classes at this time. We will announce it as soon as in-person classes are able to resume!
