Spring classes start 1/28/19. Registered, waitlisted, or just hopeful students should come the first day of class for a seat.

ASL-1: Meets MW, 9:00 am - 11:05 am, room 352, building 350.
ASL-2: Meets TTH, 12:45 pm - 2:50 pm, room 355, building 350.

The required textbook for both courses is: LEARNING AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE by Humphries and Padden and may be found new, used, or for rent at the college bookstore.

Cabrillo College hybrid courses are traditional, on-campus, classroom courses with weekly online assignments. The online assignments are accessed anywhere, anytime, through the Cabrillo College website Canvas link, and are free. I will explain in class.

Two semesters of ASL satisfy the world language requirement for Cabrillo College and for many 4-year colleges and universities nationwide.

American Sign Language is the third most-used language in our country. It isn't English-on-the-hands but an alive, rich, storytelling language created by people who are Deaf. Deaf Culture created this language. Every conversation in ASL is an adventure. Come learn with us.
