Pondering my next lecture ...

Ph.D.
With Cabrillo College since 2005

A native of Seattle, I have lived in the Bay Area for decades, and spent a total of four years in Japan (at three different times). I went to high school at ‘Iolani School in Honolulu, Hawai’i. I have a Ph.D. in Japanese history from the University of California, Berkeley. I have taught Japanese history (19C) in the Spring Semester since 2005, and a hybrid (half online, half in-person) section of modern world history (2B) in the Fall Semester since 2014.

I live in San Francisco, and am only on campus on Wednesdays.

If you're interested in Japan, or history in general, please join me for one or both of those courses!
