With Cabrillo College since 2002

I love both research and teaching but when I got my full-time job at Cabrillo College as professor of Geography-Meteorology, I realized that this is my dream job.  I love sharing my knowledge of planet Earth and it's amazing processes with students.  Since there are new "events" (earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, droughts, wildfires, climate change etc.) occurring continually, there is always opportunity for me to learn more about this amazing field of science. I love traveling to a new place and learning about its unique geography.  Since the broad science of geography studies both place and the people of that place, I find it fascinating to learn how place influences people and how people influence place.  It is important to study geography to better understand how the physical world around us works and how it impacts our everyday lives.
